JERSEY BOYS wins three Dora Mavor Moore Awards, including the Audience Choice Award!


The Dancap Production of Jersey Boys Currently running in Toronto featuring Matthew Brown took home three of its seven Dora Award Nominations last night at the 30th annual Dora Awards. One of the three Awards was honor of Audience choice, the award voted on by the fans.

Jersey Boys also took home awards for Best Direction of a Musical, General Theatre (Des McAnuff) and Outstanding Performance by a Male in a Principal role, General Theatre (Jeff Madden). The Dora Mavor Moore Awards where held at the Winter Garden theatre in Toronto ON. The awards where founded in 1978 to recognize outstanding achievements in the Toronto theatre community. They are named after Dora Mavor Moore (1888-1979) a well loved teacher and Director who helped establish Canadian professional theatre in the 1930’s and 40’s. The Dora Awards are presented and produced by TAPA.
